Forever Stocks: Where Bill Gates Invested $571M
by Homerun

I stumbled upon this article from Paul Tracy giving us a peak into one of Bill Gates' recent investments worth $571 million. He gave his insight on the type of stocks that you invest in -- those that you buy, forget and hold forever.

A case in point is that if you bought $10,000 of Warren Buffet's company Berkshire Hathaway in 1956, it will be worth a whopping $432 million today, net of all fees and expenses!

Recently, Buffet purchased 409,000 shares of Mastercard. This is another type of a "forever stock." According to Tracy, "By our estimates, Buffett is already up roughly 31% since he first bought the shares… and 16% on his latest purchase. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 is down about 10% so far this year."

Forever Stocks may thus, be compared to your life insurance which you may invest in today and still be able to cash in on them before you hit the "take off" to eternity. :)

Research on stocks that can outlive your existence. Clues to these type of stocks are key words such as: food, money, utilities, and environment. In the U.S. the John Deere stock is a high potential one as it is equated to agriculture. We know that we gotta eat anyway, right? So it's a forever stock.

Here's a peak at recommended Top 10 Forever Stocks in the U.S. from Street Authority. You can get your own insights on investments anywhere you are.
